Platform Action – Design Integrate Deliver

Platform solutions designed and implemented by experts

Our highly automated and efficient agile development methodology supports our bid to deliver real value, real quick

Our methodology supports our high-pace, high-quality delivery approach. We engage right the way through the organisation and introduce a level of controlled ‘disruption’ – a dynamic approach that’s designed to be engaging and highly productive. We take your culture and development capabilities into account so you and your suppliers gain long-term benefit from our involvement.

We’re outcome-focused and have the ultimate aim for our clients to become more self-sufficient with each successful delivery cycle.

As an Executive, you want to know that the platform strategy and development plans will deliver the anticipated benefits within the cost and time constraints.

We’ll engage with you to review, challenge and validate the platform proposition and ensure the overall business plan is realistic and doesn’t exceed growth or cost to serve the benchmarks. We bring ‘support and challenge’ behaviours, in-depth expertise and an external perspective. This allows us to build respect and alignment with the senior team to ensure the proposition design, planning assumptions and execution approach are realistic, aligned, viable and the claimed benefits tracked and realisation enforced.

Useful Tools

We have developed a programme repository that stores all the information relevant to each release from high-level requirements through to acceptance test case results and release documentation.

You can think of this as a real-time library that has been designed to support a variety of roles from Programme Sponsor through to Release Manager and Operational Users. The major innovations are intuitive ease of use, designed for the non-specialist and the complete removal of the typical programme-reporting cottage industry that is costly and never current.

Our solution is 100% real time, particularly important during acceptance reviews when defects status can be viewed, the instant test has been completed and the results entered.

Programme Sponsors, Programme and Change Managers – Those accountable and responsible for delivery want accurate information on progress, dependencies and cost to manage stakeholder relationships and delivery partners with confidence.

We’ll ensure the design of the overall change programme is complete, aligned and delivers the anticipated benefits within the cost constraints. Our methodology and toolset support real-time and transparent status reporting and effective, efficient and robust governance. Our objective is to minimise time spent on historical reporting and programme control by making all the status information accessible in real-time throughout the organisation that can be rolled-up or drilled down depending on audience needs. The emphasis is on real-time data to support transparent, fast fact-based decisions without the overhead of a traditional programme office or control function.

IT Managers want to know how to minimise the development costs and timescales to meet the overall business requirements at an affordable cost to serve.

We work with IT managers/architects to design the overall solution architecture that leverages the platform capabilities and minimise bespoke development and whole-life cost of ownership. Our development, test and deployment approach can accommodate both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and apply to in-house and external development partners, new and legacy systems. We have in-depth expertise in systems design, integration and test, combined with supplier delivery management. We are highly collaborative with internal and external development teams and use our expertise and approach to create an environment of confidence in delivery, underpinned by pace, productivity and quality from highly motivated teams.

Operations Managers want to know the delivered solution meets the operational business requirements, has been fully tested and can be deployed into production without adverse impact and fully supported within any headcount constraints.

We engage with the operational stakeholders and subject matter experts throughout the development and testing phases to ensure their functional and non-functional requirements and constraints are adhered to. We have developed robust operational acceptance and verification processes that eliminate testing duplication of effort and provide the business with the visibility and transparency of testing results and defects status to allow acceptance confidence to be established as the delivery proceeds. The approach is based on role-based acceptance test scenarios, underpinned by detailed test definitions and evidence of test results in a central repository that makes the acceptance process transparent and fact-based, without having to divert frontline staff to large-scale testing.

Delivery Cycles

We advocate time-boxed deliveries typically with a development cycle of between 12 and 16 weeks. The objective with every release or sprint is to deliver tangible business functionality that can be monitored against the expected benefits. Each stage has well-defined entry and exit points, with the artefacts to support the lifecycle stored in a single repository. Status reporting is available in real-time – key to supporting a multi-vendor development environment.

The final stage of the Design, Integrate, Deliver cycle is a four-week delivery period where we ensure the functionality is usable, meets the requirements and is robust.
